maybelline 24hr color tattoo

having been continually envious of those across the pond who were able to buy these, they have now finally been launched in the uk at the bargainous price of £4.99. however, there are a few down sides. we only seem to have half the colour selection... and they've all been renamed. i want pomegranate punk. so badly... but we don't have that one here. superdrug had 6 shades, eternal gold (a yellowed metallic gold), on and on bronze (metallic bronze), immortal charcoal (metallic deep grey), turquoise forever (metallic turquoise), endless purple (pearlised purple) and permanent taupe (plain grey/brown). the only one that appealed to me out of this selection was on and on bronze. they come in a glass pot with a black screw top lid.

35 on and on bronze swatched on my hand. for some reason, the colour appears deeper on my hand. i think this is because it's easier to build up. on the eye, i think it would crease with this much product.

lightly applied to my eyelid and blended with my finger. it gives a really polished look, gives my eyes a little more depth but looks lovely. i think it would make a lovely base for a brown eyeshadow also.

i do really like the color tattoo 24hr eyeshadow, and i really welcome the inexpensive price tag. the product feels very high quality, as does the packaging. i just wish we had the full range of shades, and specifically pomegranate punk.

platinum baby

the result of spending 3 hours and 10 minutes in the hairdressers. i went in with patchy bleach highlights, a brassy yellow halo and inch and a half long level 4 medium brown roots. i typically have a full head of highlights, but this time i decided i wanted to get it as platinum and white as possible. i had a full head of highlights, however on the top the foils were back to back which left the top super blonde. i then had it toned for 5-10 minutes. there are still some darker sections through the underneath, but next time i have my hair done they should be gone.

my hairdressers are amazing. bleach should never touch your scalp, and so with bleach you will always have a tiny bit of root showing. they got it so close that you can't even tell i'm naturally dark brown. i had two hairdressers working on my hair today, Rosie worked on the sides and Fern worked on the top. The best bit? they're trainees. i have my hair bleached at the training academy, as many hairdressers charge absolute extortion due to the length and thickness of my hair. and many of them won't even bleach it... i know what my hair can and can't take and i know that it takes bleach very well. i paid £55 today, and they did an even better job than 99% of qualified, experienced hairdressers.

if you're in the bristol area, i would highly recommend visiting the gary henri training academy and asking for fern or rosie. they're both lovely, super talented girls and will make your hair look AMAZING.

sleek blush by 3

sleek have been surprisingly quiet with the launch of this product. launched into superdrug only last week, are the blush by 3 palettes. each one containing 3 blushes, 20g of product in total. they retail for £9.99 each, and are very very pigmented. i picked up lace, the lightest and least 'full on' of the palettes. it has 3 beautiful warm shades of coral or peach.

the first shade is a beautiful matte orange peach, the second a peach with gold shimmer and the third a beautiful watermelon coral. the second shade reminds me a lot of rose gold, however with a peach base tone rather than a rose shade. my favourite is actually the watermelon coral, i really really like the colour of this although i am uncertain as to how it will translate onto my cheeks.

this was just one swipe. as you can see, they are very pigmented and so i would imagine would work best when applied with a stippling brush. i think the photos of this online are inaccurate, it looks fairly neutral in stock photographs however in person it is very warm toned.

i'm not sure if i will purchase any of the other palettes. i think they are great value for money and i love sleek blush, however i think a lot of the colours are very very bright and not something i would find myself reaching for on a daily basis. if they had came out with an even lighter palette than lace, perhaps filled with light to medium neutral shades i would have been all over it. or even one filled with golden bronzes...
